CKM is based on your natural reactions and responses, and simple movements that can be easily remembered when under stress from attacks and threats. It is considered by many experts as the most devastating Israeli fighting system. The effectiveness of the techniques has been proven time and time again and are taught to the most elite commando units and SWAT forces in Israel and around the world. Kids' Kick (Children's Martial Arts Training) This mixed martial arts class for ages 7 – 14 combines the learning of traditional forms or katas with the practicality of self defense and the discipline to know when to use these skills. Classes are 60 minutes featuring a variety of self defense techniques to defend against the most common attacks. Students also learn basic combatives such as punches, kicks, elbow strikes, knee strikes, etc. done to fast-paced high energy music. At the core of this class is the more traditional aspect of performing katas or forms (choreographed patterns of movements done solo which can be practiced at home) as well as learning the meaning of honor, integrity, discipline, and other martial arts concepts. In addition to Self Defense training, St. Louis Self Defense & Fitness offers many fitness classes such as... Extreme Conditioning Be all you can be – except in your waistline! You want to get into shape, but you don’t have anything that resembles a plan? EXTREME CONDITIONING is PERFECT FOR YOU! This exciting class will challenge you both physically and mentally with a variety of exercises using body weight resistance, plyometrics, drills, obstacle courses, etc. Its goal is to help you build muscle strength, stamina and endurance. Kickboxing Self Defense combatives done to high energy music combined with heavy bag work and circuit training stations. This class will focus on proper Kickboxing techniques in addition to conditioning and cardio. This class does require Striking or Boxing Gloves so bring your gear; or if you need gloves they can be purchased in our pro shop. Kettlebells Men and women get in shape from head to toe with Kettlebell training. Considered to be a "personal gym with a handle", the Russian Kettlebell is the ultimate tool for overall fitness. Core Strength If you want a class that targets your butts and gutts, this is it! Our Core Strength class will tone your abdominals and tighten your buttocks with this strength and conditioning workout. You’ll also increase your muscle definition while improving your balance, agility and coordination. The class incorporates Pilates as its base and uses props (BOSU balls, fitness circles, hand weights and medicine balls) to add an extra challenge and fun to this highly effective workout! Core Combatives Learn various types of striking techniques to help advance both your fighting and self-defense skills.
